Top Motorcycles of 2010

Whether you are seriously considering buying a new motorcycle over the coming year, or if you simply want to find out what`s hot and admire from afar, then the following motorcycles will certainly be of interest to you.
BMW S1000RR

Any bike with two Rs in its name means business and the S1000RR from BWM is the fastest production superbike in its category. With 193 raging horsepower and a specially designed traction control system to make cornering at high speeds far less dangerous for amateurs, the S1000R will win many admirers over the next 12 months. It will set you back more than £10,000 and it is undoubtedly an enthusiasts machine, but with a superior driving experience it could gain wider appeal.

Honda VFR1200

The VFR1200 has just been updated with a brand new engine that puts down 174bhp, along with a new system that reduces the torque issues suffered by other motorcycles that, like the VFR1200, are shaft driven. Another first for the VFR1200 is the double clutch mechanism it employs, which allows for automatic shifting using a six speed manual gear box. This is the kind of technology that has been utilised in sports cars for a while now, but never before has a motorcycle been blessed with it. At £11,500 it`s not a cheap motorcycle, but ABS is included as standard and the advanced gear and shaft mechanisms on board make the VFR1200 stand out from the crowd.
Suzuki Bandit GSX1250SEA

The latest addition to the popular Bandit series sees the inclusion of ABS and a completely overhauled design that integrates new saddle bags and a sporty style. The new Bandit is designed as a touring motorcycle, alalthough that does not mean it is lacking in the performance department thanks to a 1255cc engine. It should become available for around £8000 or more and a sportier version which does away with the additional storage and the windscreen is also going to be released.

Kawasaki Z100R
Making revision to a motorcycle and then releasing the updated version is common, but Kawasaki has put an impressive amount of effort into this latest offering. It looks like it has taken a dose of steroids with a new exhaust system and stockier, angular styling applied to the Z100R. Experts expect the Z100R to offer the superbike experience to those on a budget.

Yamaha Stratoliner Deluxe

Sitting at the very top of the luxury touring food chain the new Stratoliner Deluxe encompasses a brand new engine with a brand new fuel injection technique, an impressive audio system and some solid saddle bags to boot. This motorcycle is expected to hit the US market at around $22,000.

Accessories are also an important part of every motorcycle owner`s shopping list and if you are wondering what backpacks, helmets and other practical and protective accessories are on the market you should head online and check out the opinions of other motorcyclists. There are also professional reviewers who are happy to share their views and this is the best way to ensure that you pick the accessory that is right for you and your motorcycle.
