New from Michelin, for 2010, is POWER PURE, said to be the lightest dual-compound sports tyre ever designed, and claimed to deliver a 2lbs weight saving, when compared with pairs of other leading hypersport rubber, (120/70ZR17, 190/50ZR17), thanks to the manufacturer's "Light Tire Technology (LTT)".
Fans of the highly rated Pilot Power 2CT, from Michelin, voted best sports tyre by readers of RiDE magazine, can not only take advantage of the Power Pure's ability to deliver even more nimble handling, with no penalties in terms of wear, wet and dry grip, or stability, whilst making a weight saving which would cost "megabucks" to achieve by other means!
Already in stock, here, in all of the six production sizes, Power Pure also has approval for fitment to heavier machines, such as the Hayabusa and Blackbird, whilst being original equipment on the 2010 Yamaha R1, in a number of markets.
A new Hypersport tyre by Michelin was always going to be ground-breaking, and Power Pure, with no sacrifice of tread depth, will enable riders to experience soft compound adhesion at even minor angles of "lean".
Power Pure uses the same Dupont Kevlar material employed in the aerospace industry, which is five times more resistant than the equivalent weight in steel.
